Privacy
What we do with your details, in plain English.
Who we are
This site belongs to Vinoly, 33 Aybrook Street, Marylebone, London W1U 4AP.
Vinoly is responsible for the details you give us here: in law, it is the data controller.
For anything about your details, write to events@vinoly-london.com.
What we collect, and why
Only what you choose to give us, and a little about how the site is used if you let us.
- When you email or call us about an event, we use what you tell us to reply and to plan it with you.
- When you book a room, you do it on our booking page, run by SiteMinder. They collect your booking details under their own privacy notice and share them with us so we can look after your stay.
- When you buy a ticket for one of our own evenings, you do it on SevenRooms, whose page opens over ours. They collect your details under their own privacy notice and share them with us.
- Some evenings are run by outside organisers and sold on their own sites, such as Fever. Their own notices apply there.
- When you join our list, you do it on Mailchimp, so your email address goes to them and to us.
- If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics tells us, without naming anyone, which pages are read and which buttons are pressed. If you decline, it does not run.
Our reasons in law
Under UK data protection law we need a lawful reason for each use of your details.
- Enquiries and bookings: it is needed to answer you and, where you go ahead, to do what you asked. It is also in our interest to run the business well.
- Our list: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from any email we send.
- Analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Keeping the site secure and working: our legitimate interest in doing so.
Who sees your details
Only the people who help us run the site and look after you. We do not sell your details.
- SiteMinder, for room bookings.
- SevenRooms, for tickets to our own evenings.
- Mailchimp, for our list.
- Google, for analytics, if you accept analytics cookies.
- Microsoft, which holds our inboxes.
- Netlify, which hosts this site.
Some of these services are based outside the UK. Where they are, they must protect your details to a standard UK law accepts.
How long we keep them
Only as long as we need to. Enquiries are kept while we are dealing with them and for a reasonable time after, in case you come back to us.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the details we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your details, or limit what we do with them
- send you your details in a form you can reuse
- stop using your details where we rely on our own interest, or on your consent
Write to events@vinoly-london.com and we will answer within a month. If you are not happy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
There is a separate page about cookies, and a way to change your choice at any time.
Changes
If we change how we use your details, we will change this page and say so here.
